Special Attributes: 1903 and 1904 reprints of the 1898 Sixpenny Series first edition.  

Condition: Fair. Cloth covering the wrappers have areas that are lighter and darker in colour. Cloth has marks & scuffing, and wrinkles from not being smoothly glued to the underlying wrappers. Cloth is worn on the tips of the corners, and worn and frayed on the top and bottom edges of spine, with a few small places that are worn on the joints. Pastedown endpapers have tanning, foxing, cracks and wrinkles in them but are still glued to wrappers. Water stain on front pastedown and on front free endpaper. Front free endpaper has a child's pencil drawing of a person on it, as well as a name written in ink. Front hinge is split at the top and bottom part. Back hinge is split right through. Pages are still attached to spine (a portion of pages in the middle of the book are partially attached - their top parts, about 5cm in length, are not attached anymore) except for three that are loose and laid in. Half-title page of "Through the Looking Glass" (together with "Dramatis Personae" that's on the reverse of this page) is missing. When the book lies open there are two places near the middle of the book where there is a gap between the facing pages (not attached to each other anymore) but still attached to the spine. Pages are tanned with a bit of foxing throughout. The loose pages have wear, chips, tears and creasing on their edges. A few of the other pages have a single, short, closed tear. Some pages are dog-eared. Tiny hole in one page. (Please contact us for full condition report at time of purchase.)
